Baseball Recap: Edison Wins Going Away Against South Brunswick

Edison owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They came out on top against the South Brunswick Vikings by a score of 5-0. The match marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

The result came thanks to Robert Roma's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edison is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Edison's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Ferrrer, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Ferrrer has brought in this season. Another was Dom Innocenti, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for South Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Edison will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
