Chesapeake put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Guilford Park Panther 61-46. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Panther are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chesapeake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Kotofski out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Those 13 boards gave Kotofski a new career-high. Ella Cieri was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and four steals.

Chesapeake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Chesapeake's record is now 7-0. As for Guilford Park, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Chesapeake will square off against Meade at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Guilford Park, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Annapolis at 6:00 p.m. on February 24, 2025.
