Baseball Recap: Westerly Falls Short Against Ranked South Kingstown

Westerly faced South Kingstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Rebels, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost five in a row.

Westerly's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for South Kingstown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westerly is set to face off against their familiar foe Bishop Hendricken at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.5, the Hawks 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, South Kingstown will take on rival Coventry at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
