Preview: Fort Calhoun Pioneers vs. Mead Raiders
The Fort Calhoun Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mead Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
After a string of six wins, Fort Calhoun's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. Their tough 64-43 loss to Concordia might stick with them for a while. The contest was a close 27-25 at the break, but unfortunately for Fort Calhoun it sure didn't stay that way.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Travis Skelton, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Bouwman, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Mead put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They really took it to East Butler for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-30 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-21.
Fort Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Mead, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
