Softball Recap: Coronado Takes Down Ranked Southeast Career Tech

Coronado faced Southeast Career Tech in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Roadrunners an 8-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Roadrunners: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Sarah Lopez, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Southeast Career Tech off the board.

At the plate, Alohi Mundon and Bailey Goldberg did most of the damage at the plate: Mundon went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Goldberg went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Bendlin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coronado's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Southeast Career Tech, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9.

Coronado has already played their next matchup, a 10-9 loss against Bishop Gorman on the 6th. Southeast Career Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
