Softball Recap: Boston English Has No Trouble Against New Mission

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Martha's Vineyard Regional, Boston English was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 22-5 margin over the New Mission Titans. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jayana Williams looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Alba Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those eight stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Amirah Gholizadeh was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Boston English was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Boston English now has a winning record of 6-5. As for New Mission, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Boston English is set to face off against their familiar foe Brooke at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, New Mission will square off against rival Cristo Rey at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
