Basketball Game Preview: Guthrie Jaguars vs. Petersburg Buffaloes

The Guthrie Jaguars will head out to face off against the Petersburg Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Guthrie has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Guthrie blew past Wilson, posting an 84-10 win. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 28 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Petersburg suffered their biggest loss since November 25th on Saturday. They lost 63-40 to Harrold. The Buffaloes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Guthrie's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points per game. As for Petersburg, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Guthrie came up short against Petersburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 38-34. Can Guthrie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
