Servite had won five straight games and Jake Schutt did his part to make it six on Tuesday. The Friars skirted past the Cypress Centurions 81-78 for which the team can thank Schutt, who shot 75% from the field on his way to 28 points and seven boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Servite's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Cypress, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Servite will face off against Esperanza at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Friars will need to watch out since the Aztecs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cypress, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Anthony at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Centurions will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
