Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Central Mustangs vs. Parke Heritage Wolves

Fountain Central hasn't had much luck against Parke Heritage recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Fountain Central Mustangs will face off against the Parke Heritage Wolves at 7:15 p.m. Fountain Central will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Fountain Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 69-13 win over South Newton. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Hannah Prickett had an outrageously good game as she went 10 of 15 on her way to 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Henley Good, who posted seven points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Fountain Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Parke Heritage didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Linton-Stockton on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Miners are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parke Heritage is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which somehow still isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Fountain Central, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Fountain Central suffered a grim 58-37 defeat to Parke Heritage when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Fountain Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
