Baseball Recap: Escondido Gets the Win

Escondido picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They skirted past the Hemet Bulldogs 3-2.

Escondido saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makaih Gonzalez, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was Gonzalez's first of the season. Another was Kaden Hermsen, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Escondido has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Hemet, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Escondido will be playing in front of their home fans against Mission Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Vista has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.7 runs per game on average), something Escondido will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hemet, they will take on Durango in a tournament on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trailblazers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
