Basketball Recap: Centereach's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Smithtown West, Centereach was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the West Islip Lions 64-62. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Centereach's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for West Islip, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centereach has already played their next match (against Bellport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Islip will face off against Deer Park at 6:45 p.m. on January 24th.
