Softball Recap: Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Gets the Win

Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against St. Mary, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Royals had just enough and edged out the Hawks 13-12. For the Royals, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union and bumps their season record up to 10-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union is taking a road trip to challenge West Sioux at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.11 runs per game on average), something the Royals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
