Football Recap: Discovery Comes Up Short

Discovery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 48-12 loss at the hands of the McLaughlin Phoenix.

Leading McLaughlin to victory were Mari'Yon Clarkson and Michael Sparks. Clarkson rushed for 150 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, while Sparks rushed for 175 yards on only 11 carries. Jamie Bibbs helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for McLaughlin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Discovery will challenge Tenoroc at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McLaughlin, they will square off against Palm Beach Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
