Baseball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was the 7-2 winner over Centennial when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cougars since on Wednesday.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Centennial, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-16.

Coming up, Independence will head out to square off against Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Overton at 12:00 p.m.
