Softball Recap: Napoleon Wildcats vs. Springfield Blue Devils
Napoleon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 14-3 to the Springfield Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.
Emma Grisier (Jr) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kendall Horner (Jr), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Napoleon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Napoleon will face off against rival Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Springfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Southview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
