Ware Shoals had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the McBee Panthers on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on five straight.
JP Medlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, Jayce Medlin was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Brennan Goode was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Ware Shoals pushed their record up to 22-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for McBee, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-5.
