Basketball Recap: Princeton Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Princeton came tearing into Wednesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Lakota East Thunderhawks, posting a 70-29 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Princeton to victory were Mari Gerton and Erin Thomas. Gerton went 11 of 22 to rack up 22 points and seven steals, while Thomas went 12 for 21 en route to 24 points. The contest was Gerton's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Kamryn Lowe was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 9 points.

Princeton pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 38.4% in those games and 24.8% outside of them. As for Lakota East, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
