Baseball Recap: Jones' Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

There's no place like home for Jones, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Flour Bluff Hornets on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Caleb Deleon made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Jones hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flour Bluff struck out six times.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5-1. As for Flour Bluff, they now have a losing record of 4-5-2.

Jones didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Canyon Lake on the 7th. As for Flour Bluff, they will be taking part in a tournament against Clemens at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Flour Bluff has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
