Corbin waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Powell Panthers. The Redhounds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Brady Webb looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cam Estep, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Zachery, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Corbin's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Powell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corbin will take on Tates Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Powell, they will host Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
