Coeur d'Alene faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Grizzlies. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Coeur d'Alene was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.

Kaylee Paulson paced Coeur d'Alene's offense, picking up 11 kills. Paulson got some help from Hannah Shafer and her 25 assists.

Katelynn Morrison was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 assists and five digs. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Coeur d'Alene's loss dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Rocky Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Coeur d'Alene and Rocky Mountain will both be playing Bonneville the next time they take the court. The Grizzlies will host the Bees at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
