Rush Blackwell Turns in Season-Best Effort
Rush Blackwell produced his most outstanding game to date while leading South Columbus to the win on Friday. Blackwell rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
The win (which was South Columbus' sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Blackwell and South Columbus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.

Jeremiah Johnson put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he posted at least 121 rushing yards in the eighth games prior.
Pender's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. They and West Columbus are set to duel on Friday.
