Baseball Recap: Normal Community Finds Home Field Redemption Against Peoria Notre Dame

There's no place like home for Normal Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Peoria Notre Dame Irish get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Ironmen as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Landyn Corbin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Max Heineman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kyle Beaty, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Normal Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Normal Community's record now sits at 2-3. As for Peoria Notre Dame, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.
