Baseball Recap: Somerset Takes a Loss

Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pulaski County Maroons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Briar Jumpers have suffered since March 8th.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Pulaski County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Somerset will welcome Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Briar Jumpers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Pulaski County, they will venture away from home to challenge Garrard County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Maroons are facing the Golden Lions at the right time seeing as the Golden Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
