Volleyball Recap: Madeira Extends Winning Streak to Six

Madeira came tearing into Saturday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Williamsburg Wildcats. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Madeira was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10.

Madeira can attribute much of their success to Claire Lutes, who had six assists and five digs. Those six assists gave Lutes a new career-high.

Madeira was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive games.

Madeira's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Williamsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Madeira and Williamsburg will both be playing Miami Valley Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
