Game recap: Penns Grove High School Football Team beats Schalick

PITTSGROVE, N.J. - Penns Grove (Carneys Point, N.J.) saw its 14-point lead dwindle to eight, but still managed to hang on and defeat Schalick (Pittsgrove, N.J.) 14-6 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Marcus Hill touchdown pass to Rich Gray in the first quarter, the Red Devils led 14-0 at the half.

The loss snapped Schalick's four-game winning streak.

Schalick's only touchdown came on a 6-yard run by Deandre Solomon in the fourth quarter.

Penns Grove came into the game allowing 8.0 points per game. The six points that the Cougars ended with were well below their average of 21.4 coming into the game.



The loss comes after Schalick defeated Mount Pleasant 13-6 last week.

Schalick (4-2) will play a non-conference game against Salem next week, while Penns Grove (5-1) will take on Deptford also in a non-conference game.
