Preview: Calvert Cavaliers vs. Chopticon Braves
Calvert and Chopticon are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Calvert Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Chopticon Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Calvert has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
Calvert struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (Westlake had 19 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Calvert took a 51-37 bruising from Westlake.
Despite the loss, Calvert saw an underclassman step up: Brooke Kidwell scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Kidwell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Chopticon came up short against Northern on Monday and fell 46-35.
Calvert dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chopticon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Calvert came up short against Chopticon when the teams last played back in January, falling 32-25. Can Calvert avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
