Volleyball Recap: Cibola Comes Up Short

Cibola came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Gila Ridge Hawks, falling 3-0. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-6, 25-16.

Leona Faulks paced Cibola's offense, picking up three kills. Faulks got some help from Brayleigh Stuebs and her five assists. Stuebs was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cibola's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-12. As for Gila Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-9.

Cibola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against San Luis on the 23rd. As for Gila Ridge, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Kofa on the 23rd.
