Softball Recap: South San Antonio's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 13

South San Antonio came tearing into Saturday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Harlandale Indians as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Catalina Bonilla looked comfortable as she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Raena Ramirez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Sophia Balzadua also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

South San Antonio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harlandale only posted an OBP of .391.

South San Antonio pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Harlandale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

As of now, neither South San Antonio nor Harlandale have any future games scheduled.
