Basketball Recap: Pompton Lakes Comes Up Short

Pompton Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 52-27 to the West Milford Highlanders. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-10.

West Milford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laurel Space, who went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points along with eight boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Amanda O'Brien, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Pompton Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for West Milford, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pompton Lakes Cardinals duke it out with the Glen Rock Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Milford, they will take on Fair Lawn at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
