Soccer Game Preview: Kemp vs. Palestine

The Kemp Yellowjackets will challenge the Palestine Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kemp's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While Kemp's win against Mexia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets' defense stepped up to hand the Black Cats a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Palestine entered their tilt with Ferris on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Yellowjackets 3-0. Palestine's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Kinley Astramovich and Laura Chavez scored all three of Palestine's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Palestine's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Kemp, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
