Softball Recap: Vel Phillips Memorial Takes a Loss

While it was Vel Phillips Memorial who put the first runs on the board on Saturday, it was Tomah who put up more. The Spartans took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Vel Phillips Memorial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Fritts, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Vel Phillips Memorial now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Tomah, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Vel Phillips Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-9 win against DeForest on the 12th. As for Tomah, they will square off against Sparta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
