Basketball Recap: McCracken County Mustangs vs. Todd County Central Rebels
On Saturday, McCracken County earned a 60-47 victory over the Rebels. Given McCracken County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Rebels are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Todd County Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamison Glass. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 44.7% of Todd County Central's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hayden Strader was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for McCracken County and bumps their season record up to 17-6. As for Todd County Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCracken County and the Wildcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marion will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Todd County Central, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
