Soccer Game Preview: Asheville School (Independent) vs. Asheville Christian Academy

The Asheville School (Independent) Blues will take on the Asheville Christian Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Asheville School (Independent) is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Davidson Day on Tuesday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Asheville School (Independent) can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Davidson Day are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Asheville Christian Academy fell victim to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to the Eagles.

Asheville School (Independent)'s defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.

Asheville School (Independent) came out on top in a nail-biter against Asheville Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Blues repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
