Football Recap: Compton Takes a Loss

Compton played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, falling 55-22. While losing is never fun, the Tarbabes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 132nd).

Several Tarbabes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Edward Rivera, who picked up 115 receiving yards and one score. Rivera also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass. Micah Hawkins also helped out with an impressive 141 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Compton and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Long Beach Poly, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

As of now, neither Compton nor the Jackrabbits have any future games scheduled.
