Cheney has gone a perfect 10-0 against Douglass recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cardinals will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Cheney's favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Douglass has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Cheney got the win against Medicine Lodge by a conclusive 18-2. Fans of the Cardinals have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Lucy Fouquet made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Fouquet was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Macey Batt and Erika Block did most of the damage at the plate: Batt went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Block went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Block is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Adelle Fouquet, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.
Cheney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Medicine Lodge only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Douglass made easy work of Belle Plaine on Thursday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won seven in a row.
Like Cheney, Douglass also got a great game from a two-way player: Addie Brewer. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Brewer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Douglass let Braylie Knisely and Maddie Waggoner run wild. Knisely went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Waggoner went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Knisely has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyenne Wagoner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Douglass' victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Cheney, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Cheney took their victory against Douglass in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-4 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
