Basketball Game Preview: Crab Orchard Trojans vs. Cobden Appleknockers

The Crab Orchard Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Cobden Appleknockers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crab Orchard knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Cobden likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Crab Orchard made easy work of Carrier Mills-Stonefort and carried off a 67-45 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cobden beat Egyptian 56-51 on Friday.

Crab Orchard is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Cobden, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 12-15.

Everything went Crab Orchard's way against Cobden in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Crab Orchard made off with an 89-69 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crab Orchard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
