Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harlan). Their defense stepped up to hand the Holmes Huskies a 6-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Huskies are ranked 620th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harlan hit Holmes with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Marcus Saa (2), Josh Olivares (2), Alijah Boyle, and Marcus Florez.

The win made it two in a row for Harlan and bumps their season record up to 4-4-1. As for Holmes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Harlan duke it out with the Stevens at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holmes, they will challenge Brennan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
