Basketball Game Preview: Fort White Indians vs. Trenton Tigers

Fort White is 2-8 against Trenton since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Fort White Indians will challenge the Trenton Tigers. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fort White is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-18 win over Bell. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort White's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ya'Zuri Hollie, who posted 23 points, and Isreal Hart, who had 20 points. Hollie's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Trenton was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Dixie County 57-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Trenton has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.3 points. As for Fort White, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Fort White strolled past Trenton when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 58-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort White since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
