Volleyball Recap: Sandler Miranda Key Part of Team Effort in Firebirds Win

Fairmont posted their closest victory since April 3rd on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the La Salle Lancers 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Firebirds.

Fairmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sandler Miranda led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces. Miranda has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last six times he's played. Jaxson Routley was another key player, getting 15 assists.

Fairmont's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for La Salle, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Fairmont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Wilmington Christian Academy on the 26th. As for La Salle, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Carroll on the 26th.
