Whitesboro had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans with a sharp 26-2 victory on Thursday. The Warriors have beaten the Spartans the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.
Addison Cook was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Cook was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
