Basketball Game Preview: Westfield Bulldogs vs. South Lakes Seahawks

Westfield hasn't had much luck against South Lakes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Westfield Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the South Lakes Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Westfield is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 17, 2024 on Wednesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 71-38 win over Freedom. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, South Lakes faced Maury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. South Lakes came out on top against Maury by a score of 64-52. The victory was familiar territory for the Seahawks who have now won three contests in a row.

South Lakes has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Westfield, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Westfield was dealt a bruising 70-30 loss at the hands of South Lakes in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Westfield was down 36-16.
