Basketball Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

Lebanon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cookeville Cavaliers. The Blue Devils lost against the Cavaliers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 80-44 score last time.

Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Cookeville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lebanon will square off against LaVergne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaVergne will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Lebanon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cookeville, they will challenge Wilson Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilson Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Cookeville likes a good challenge.
