Recap: Cumberland Pirates vs. Unity Christian Lions
There's no place like home for the Cumberland Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They really took it to Unity Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-21 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Cumberland has managed all season.
Kelby Bierman was a one-man wrecking crew for Cumberland as he scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bierman has scored all season. Blake Mcmechan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Cumberland's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Unity Christian, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] the next time they take the court. Cumberland will head out to face Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Unity Christian will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
