Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Westlake Thunder

Lone Peak is 9-1 against Westlake since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lone Peak Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Westlake Thunder at 6:00 p.m. Lone Peak is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road.

In what's become a running theme this season, Lone Peak gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They really took it to Lehi for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-29 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lone Peak has posted since December 5, 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lone Peak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shawnee Nordstrom, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Nordstrom hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Naia Tanuvasa, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Westlake faced Pleasant Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Westlake came out on top against Pleasant Grove by a score of 48-39 on Friday.

Austyn Feller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Chloe Jensen was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Lone Peak is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Tanuvasa and Jensen. Tanuvasa has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 14.2 points and 2.2 steals. For her part, Jensen has averaged 14.1 points, 1.8 steals, and 3.2 assists.

Everything came up roses for Lone Peak against Westlake in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 72-39 win. With Lone Peak ahead 41-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
