Basketball Recap: Clearfield Beats Bald Eagle Area for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Clearfield proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 23) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 victory over the Bald Eagle Area Eagles. The 43-point effort marked the Bison's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Clearfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Collins, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ev Maines, who earned ten points.

The victory (which was Clearfield's eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Bald Eagle Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Clearfield will venture away from home to square off against Westmont Hilltop at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Clearfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. Bald Eagle Area has already played their next match, a 64-43 loss against Central on the 24th.
