Softball Recap: Grosse Ile Comes Up Short

Grosse Ile was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 13-6 to the Anderson Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 on Saturday.

Meghan Johnson and Alex Ganzberger did some serious damage despite the final result: Johnson went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Ganzberger went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Johnson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Malayna Jarnot, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Grosse Ile's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Anderson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Grosse Ile will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary Catholic Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons/Kestrels will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Anderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
