Basketball Recap: Enloe Comes Up Short

Enloe lost against Garner back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Enloe Eagles had to suffer through a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Garner Trojans. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Leading Garner to victory were Aniyah Williams and Sumayah Jones. Williams almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals, while Jones almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Garner's points. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Dean, who posted six points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Enloe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Garner, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3.

Enloe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-20 loss against Clayton on the 13th. As for Garner, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-22 win against Sanderson on the 13th.
