Preview: Miller Place Panthers vs. Kings Park Kingsmen
The Miller Place Panthers will be playing at home against the Kings Park Kingsmen at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Miller Place, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-35 loss to Islip. Miller Place has struggled against Islip recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ava Zicchinelli, who scored 13 points. That was a full 37.1% of Miller Place's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brooke Callaghan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Kings Park entered their tilt with Harborfields with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Kings Park strolled past Harborfields with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 43-28.
Miller Place has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Kings Park, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home.
Miller Place might still be hurting after the 61-39 defeat they got from Kings Park when the teams last played back in January of 2022. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Miller Place was down 34-7.
