Soccer Game Preview: Grosse Pointe South vs. Anchor Bay

Grosse Pointe South is 0-4 against Anchor Bay since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Tars at 6:30 p.m. Anchor Bay took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Grosse Pointe South, who comes in off a win.

While Grosse Pointe South fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They came out on top against L'Anse Creuse by a score of 5-3 two weeks ago. Grosse Pointe South haven't had any issues with L'Anse Creuse recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Anchor Bay fell victim to Adams and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Highlanders, falling 6-0. Anchor Bay have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grosse Pointe South suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Anchor Bay in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
