Baseball Game Preview: Shenandoah Raiders vs. Centerville Bulldogs

The Shenandoah Raiders will face off against the Centerville Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shenandoah will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Shenandoah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Winchester Community.

Collin Osenbaugh was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Osenbaugh wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drew Fredenburg, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Centerville hadn't beaten Northeastern on the road since April 20, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Bulldogs skirted past the Knights 9-8.

The team relied heavily on Grady Blake, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mverick Locke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Shenandoah's record now sits at 19-4. As for Centerville, their record is now 5-12.

Shenandoah took their victory against Centerville in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 19-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
